A cow-orker had a similar problem: my question is simple:... "why are
you using WEP?"

WEP is -trivial- to compromise and has been so for years.

The only reason you should use it is if you have something on your
network that absolutely needs it: and even then, I would discard the
device... since that makes everything on your network sniffable.

The only "no known exploits" wireless protocol right now is WPA2/AES.

Can you move to that?  If so, I would.  Problem solved and you'll
actually have security.

Again, WEP can be broken in less than a minute.
