AWESOME.. thanks SOO much for the VERY useful information.. I do really appreciate it.. and please, PLEASE feel free to go as much off topic as you want so long as it has to do with the techy side of working out best practices for the alarm function
I have to say that I am very happy with the more "in depth" answers that I have gotten from forum members. I am not that good at local networking, but I do understand most of the stuff you are speaking about, so I like to read along and see what you guys come up with. my radio is scheduled for delivery on Monday and I should receive it in the middle of next week. I will obviously try the most simple solution first, but I really wanted to see if there were alternate options. I still have my Grace Digital Audio internet radio (i;m returning it as soon as the squeezebox comes) and its MISERABLE. I set the alarm every day since X-mas night and it worked ONCE.. I couldnt even get the radio to turn ON this morning!! HORRIBLE PRODUCT and even worse customer service.. So i have to say, I am tickled pink over the excitement and interaction of the users on this forum AND the fact that squeezebox manufacturers actually listen to user feedback and upgrade their firmware and make changes based on user experience. as far as the WOL, I will definitely do some research on that and learn about it just in case (I always have been a just in case type of person) and I will see what macs can do with that kind of thing. if you NEED to be connected via ethernet to use the WOL functions, I will likely have to use my husband's 27 imac to serve the music and radio streams.. Shouldnt be a problem though. I;ll let you know how it works with my mac if i get there. -- lindsayanng ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lindsayanng's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35414 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73246 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
