Well now that I have both boom and radio, I must say that boom is quite
special for it's size and price.
But radio is what you'd expect from it, quite unclear and muddy in
comparison. I have the radio for it's size and battery, bathroom and
balcony use is the purpose I have for it.
Sound quality does not stand out for it's size and design.

Boom is spectacular, not hifi but clearly better than what could be
expected when you see it .

But boom has a clear edge that dsp and digital crossover is sure doing
something, the radio does not have the dsp ?
That was the explanation given in the "why no tone controls in radio
bug" .
Implementing tone controls in boom is doable due to the on-board dsp,
not so in radio .

So Radio has that small speaker in a plastic box sound you would expect
from such a thing, it is after all a small speaker in plastic box you
can't beat the laws of physics.
Boom on the other hand seems to defy physics sometimes, much clearer
and articulated than you thought possible :) Hi end clock-radio ?
A new product segment, populated by logitech (not counting extremely
expensive offerings from others, you get a real hifi for that money)
