Squeezebox Radio is the first internet radio type device I have purchased and I love it. I got it to replace an aged and dysfunctional clock radio. The alarm has worked fine for me except for the odd occasion when there was user error and I set it incorrectly. There have been some issues with the backup alarm kicking in (which can be traumatic), but it has always got me up.
I have not used the SBserver to stream music from my computer because I do not have a digital music collection (yet), but I listen to internet radio a lot. At the moment, it is suffering from occasional stream drops, but they are easily remedied. I do listen to podcasts which you say is one of the things you plan to use it for. The only problem with the Radio is that it does not have a bookmark function so that if you stop listen to a podcast to go to another program you will loose your place and have to FF to where you were (if you can remember) which is a pain. Also, some podcasts do not support FF so that if you leave them before they finish, you have to go back and listen all over again to get to the point where you left off, an even bigger pain. All these things aside, I love my radio. All it takes is a little patients. Those of us who lived through Windows 5.1, do not complain too much about buggy programs. -- mpower9 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mpower9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33930 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78357 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
