I would like to replace my wife's old alarm by a Radio, so i'm willing to help. My situation now "SBR on my daughters bedroom" and squeezecenter running continues on a Qnap nas.
My feedback: "- Only focus on functionality to wake you up in the morning, ignore other use cases for the alarm functionality." it would be great to have 1 stable alarm. Thus 1 time for the whole week. "- Only make it possible to set the alarm through the Radio user interface, no support for setting alarms through MySB web site or through SBS user interface." I can live with that. "- Only support Radio (no support for Boom or other Squeezebox products)" I can live with that. "- Always play the same file when the alarm is triggered but make it possible to use your own small mp3 file downloaded to the Radio and make it possible to configure the volume." I would like to play e.g. some music. It would be great to play only streaming internet radio. "- In the alarm popup make it possible to select to: -- Snooze" yes please "-- Turn off alarm completely" yes , please -- Select to turn off the alarm and continue playing one of your presets/favorites. yes, please "-- All the above should have shortcut buttons so you can press a single button to do the same thing" Nice to have , but first stability "In a solution like this no network or server is involved until the user select to play a preset/favorite, this should make it very reliable and predictable unless I'm missing something obvious." it will be necesarry to play some music. I think maybe one first implementation is that it needs a continue access to a network or network server (running 7*24). Forget at this moment the WOL. "I realize a solution like this wouldn't be as nice as the current one where it can wake you with random music, but I've started to realize that reliability might be better then not being waked up or getting a hearth attack being waked up by a too loud fallback alarm." A suggestion: only run the current playlist Any thoughts ? Is there any of the above mentioned functionality that can be remove because it's not needed ? Is there any more functionality than the above mentioned that would be needed to make it usable ? I hope this will help and i will help to do some testing and give some feedback. -- renevk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ renevk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19536 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78920 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
