I have been having a problem with the alarm too (mysb and 7.5.xxxx), but not consistently. This morning I was awake before the alarm and heard a couple of seconds of the radio station that is the alarm sound (set both on radio and mysb) and then suddenly the backup alarm kicked in.
I am sure I read somewhere that there is a check to make sure the alarm radio station isn't broadcasting silence. I am trying an experiment to test my theory that the Squeezebox Radio listens to the alarm sound checking for content and the reason the back up kicks in is because I have set the alarm sound too low. If this is true then obviously it isn't using a mic or something like that, but perhaps the fade-in is somehow making the box believe that the alarm is too quiet to be effective and therefore switching to the back up. Is this a possible cause?
