The alarm (and probably the whole system(software design) is simply broken and there's no need for experiments on your side to fix it since you can't. Indeed the alarm was broken from the very beginning. It only kinda worked with 7.4.2 in parts of February/March. With version before 7.4.2 and even with 7.4.2 before the server fix, the alarm didn't work either. So there were already dozens if not hundreds of bug reports regarding the alarm and still it was not fixed in all these months. So good luck voting on this one, but I kinda lost hope that the folks at Logitech are able or willing to really fix this mess.
