Just wanted to post and say that I am also having the same alarm issue as others. This is pretty frustrating because I set two alarms in the morning (one being the Squeezebox) to basically safeguard each other in case one doesn't go off. Unfortunately, if my other alarm craps out now, I'll be SOL since the Squeezebox has been more silent than not in the morning.
Some might say that you shouldn't rely on a Squeezebox alarm since it wasn't specifically made to be an alarm clock, but personally I bought the Squeezebox partially because of its alarm clock feature and I expected it to work -- and if it didn't, a backup sound would wake me up.
