I've been wondering about that detail, btw. I've read that the Radio can sound the (backup) alarm even if the power fails, as long as it has a battery installed. But if the battery powered Radio turns "real off" after 20 minutes on standby, to preserve battery, how can it wake up in time to sound the alarm?
