what WIFI signal strength is your SB player reporting when connected? And did you ever use netstumbler or Vistumbler to detect nearby wifi networks and the channels they are using so you can set yours far way as possible? i suspect low wifi signal. just because it works well for a laptop in the same room doesn't mean it is strong enough for SB player. they don't have as good antennas and are more picky about a strong signal.
