When using MySB the player is directly streaming from the station, but
controls come from MySB. If your player loses connection to MySB the
stream can continue to play just fine, until you attempt a player
control function (volume, FFWD, change stations, etc...). Until the
player reestablishes a connection to MySB then you have no player
control. There are a couple of exceptions like the Radio does it's own
local volume control.

Yes, some mms formats play fine, others do not. Try searching "mms" in
these forums for many discussions about the issue. A regular
contributor here, bpa, understands the issue far better than myself.
He has suggested a simple email to the station telling them to "click x
button on your stream software" will resolve a particular streaming
issue. I don't recall if it was the mms issue specifically.

MySB has already experienced login overload, particularly on the EU
servers. Too many players connecting all at once. They have updated
MySB servers and even added a new MySB datacenter to help with this
overload. If you have four players using MySB, synced or not, each
player is using a unique stream. However, each navigation or button
press on each player requires action by MySB. If you change a station
on four synced players then MySB needs to communicate this change to
all four players.
