I think I might have discovered what could be causing the radios to sync but not have sound outputting on some radios. I will control playback via the radios but also via various android and iOS apps (squeeze commander, squeezedroid, ipeng, squeezepad).
It seems anytime I use a mobile app or the SB web interface to control playback I instantly have issues with one or more of the radios. I've also noticed the app (like squeeze commander v0.9.5.1) says "playing" when music is indeed playing, but the playback status icon shows "play" instead of "pause". This probably sounds like a bunch of babble, but maybe this will help someone else having issues with radios not playing sound. It's possible controllers could be causing the issue. I don't seem to have any issues when controlling playback via one of the radio's controls.
