I don't use radio for the alarm. It's set to use one of the sound effects and to come on at the same time every weekday with no alarm at the weekends. I go to sleep listening to a phone-in station and have the 'sleep' function set to turn the SBR off after 90 minutes. Most days the alarm works correctly and builds up from a low level. I'm usually awake very quickly and turn the alarm off before it wakes my wife. However, several times now, it has done this annoying burst of loud music at high volume, even though the station it is set to is talk only and the volume is turned don low for earphones.. -- TopGeek Licenced radio amateur.
