Thanks ply3908 I just tried this and the problem persists unfortunately. Every time I power up the radio it wants to 'update' to 7.6.1 but fails if I tell it to go ahead.
The underlying problem is that the update just doesn't work. I need to either get it to work or find a way to stop the radio from trying to do it every time it turns on. What's weird is that the other radio (also bought new about 2 months ago) on the same network/server has never had this problem. I recall it updating itself (presumably to 7.6.1) when I first got it, but the update 'just worked' so I never gave it a second thought.
