No, I've just kept adding players. When I first installed this Radio, I
selected "Fixed Volume", but that setting only seemed to appear when
connected to mysqueezebox.com. Later, when I deleted the device from
mysqueezebox.com and reset to factory defaults, and went to Fixed Volume
to see the setting, it was unchecked, yet the volume control knob still
didn't work when I switched to LMS.

My best guess is that when I first set up the Radio, and selected "Fixed
Volume", it copied the '0' value for digitalVolumeControl from
mysqueezebox.com to LMS, and that block of settings remained in the
server.prefs file between successive device configurations. So it is
kind of like a one-way setting - once you set Fixed Volume on
mysqueezebox.com, you can't change it back on LMS (perhaps only if it
was set before that MAC address's block was set up in server.prefs).

Looks like something that wasn't anticipated in the firmware or LMS
code... eg. the developers added the firmware or LMS's ability to react
to the digitalVolumeControl setting, but didn't add anything to the GUI
supported by LMS (or firmware connected to LMS) to modify it. Somewhere
along the line, someone said "We don't need GUI control of that", but
meanwhile, the setting was supported in the underlying code. Someone
must have forgotten about that during development.

That's my guess anyway.
