It's no gimmick: I two of these SB radios synced as a left+right pair in
my fairly large kitchen which has one side open to the living room - and
the sound quality is fairly good. Quite a step up from just having a
single SB Radio. I like this so much that I'm going to do this in the
bathroom as well.

Another alternative would have been to produce a "Squeeze Subwoofer",
and extend the firmware and servers such that all the devices could the
allocated separate frequency ranges. This would have open up possibility
for not just better quality 2.1 but even complete 5.1 surround from a
music perspective. Logitech makes subwoofers for its computer audio
rigs, so this would not have been a stretch for them at all. But they
lack imagination unfortunately. Even Sonos has a sub and they have just
released a soundbar. But I have a huge library and Sonos is simply not
an option at all. What a waste.
