That news is a year and a half old. Actually, since then some good progress has been made in LMS 7.8 to further disconnect the need of mysqueezebox.com from LMS and players (e.g., tune-in radio, podcasts). And there are other things being done by the community to insure that squeezeboxes have a life beyond Logitech and mysqueezebox.com. So not all bad news. (and I suspect the recent mysb.com outage is not related to discontinuation....it's just the usual once or so a year that mysb.com goes down.
