I think the "where" part is interesting: assuming that this was caused by people checking the fixed volume option on players where it should not have been available, I removed that option from mysb.com. But maybe I should add some code to force reset that value.
Are you saying you never modified this value?
While I know you can edit the 'server.prefs' file, I'm running a Vortexbox that makes editing the file a little more difficult. FYI, my Vortexbox is using their modified version 7.8 of LMS and is dated October 26th (if I recall correctly)
You could telnet into LMS (telnet vortextbox 9090) and change the value over the CLI. Something like:
