If you do not have a local LMS and are only using mysqueezebox.com and internet sourced audio - could your problem be your ISP connection ?
As an example of an ISP issue, with my ISP with an ADSL connection - there is pool of 4 IP addresses which are used for my connection. One IP address in the pool is "dodgy" and has much lower throughput.
