I use one of my Radios on battery every day for 20-30 minutes. It needs recharging roughly every 7-9 days when the battery is new. After a time recharges become more frequent. I normally just soft power off the Radio after listening and it powers down automatically after a fixed time, possibly 15 minutes. Recently I wondered how much I could extend the time between charges by long pressing the power button after listening and it seems to be paying off. I am on the 6th day so far with hopefully a few more to come. I wouldn't be surprised if the Radio draws a similar current whether playing or not.
