Would the geojson overlay function that the [imagery
index](https://github.com/osmlab/editor-layer-index) uses be applicable to this
functionality? In that case users define a geojson overlay shape for imagery.
Editor applications cross reference the user window with that to show the
appropriate imagery for the location.
