Hi all, I haven't been in the situation like this before. But is it true if for example you have 20 years experience as COBOL programmer, and then when you switch career to (for example) Rails, you will be considered as Junior Rails programmer and your salary will drop and be equalled to Junior programmer? Does your experience as programmer (eventhough as COBOL) are not considered? Has anyone found this case before? The reason I ask is I might need to reconsider to switch career to Rails world if this is the case when I will be dealing with HR.
