Companies tend to expect projects to be finished by xmas. January tends to be a quiet time when people are on holidays.
Why not make the 10th RailsCamp in early Jan and give people the option having an extended say? I would totally be up for renting a holiday house with a few RC'er for a few days after the camp finishes.
