It also depends on what currency you want to accept. If you want to charge in AUD then any of the gateways and banks will do. If you want to charge in USD then you need to ensure your gateway and bank can do a USD merchant account. I'm pretty NAB do a USD merchant account, but you will need to find a compatible gateway provider to handle the USD currency.
The last sums I did suggested you need to be turning over about $15k a month to make direct credit card processing comparable or cheaper than just using PayPal. When handling direct payment there are so many fees from the gateway providers, the bank and visa.
