I've been trying to understand the concept of "unity" with reguard to valueing difference of opinion,. When you say you grow weary "of this stuff" is this in reference a on-going theam you read?<G> I'd like to know if that "theam" is non-Royal Ranger. > > When has anyone on this list said he/she did not respect another faith? Good debate's stick to larger issues than that.. The result of "respect" is to understand we differ on a leval and agree to work togather in spite of our profound conscience objection. > We may seriously disagree, but disrespect? And we should attempt to > evangelize them. Is that your point? *I'll completely open myself to Ranger fury<G> The greatest reason to with-hold fellowship with the Boy Scouts is to preserve un-hindered evangelistic opportunities and preserve the four red points as the foundation to the RR social order. *Program vs *Ministry- In the BSA there is a strong LDS presence, but there is also some opportunities for Christian influence that Royal Rangers could provide. If we cannot work with Baptist,Community Churches and other faiths without compromiseing AoG doctrine, then we will never join forces.. *I beleve, RR leaders and other brothers of kindred faith could match LDS or even displace their influence, and "*Save" BSA.. I call this- *Building a bridge.. I've investigated, and found the foundations are laid allready for AoG involvement in BSA. You may not desire this, but on the menue of options, it does provide an additional resource and opportunities for the boys of your church. If your church has lost it's vision for RR then BSA could fill in as a off-shoot to provide it's values in a community setting, comebineing small pockets of boys into larger groups for activities and also supporting the boy to be involved in his individual church youth group. Mayby we don't have to nail down the boy, but just lead him to the next clear choice he must make. Mayby leadership points to the way and the light.. and the boy follows through.. > > I'm also sorry to disagree on the worth of the opinions of a 17 year > old. > They are nice to hear and may even be admirable, but he is still only > 17. > To ascribe more value to his naive opinions than the opinions of many > wise and experienced adults is folly...
