Howdy- .02! Outpost 207 had a very good showing of Uniformed boys, because the Church partly funded them and a former Commander took it upon himself to sew basic patches on the new shirts. In time we had a reserve of Uniforms, so that for $5 I'd could get a boy into a used Uniform. We also subsidised Handbooks, sold at $2.. and the Church funded the awards. What seemed troubleing to me was that, Handbooks were constantly lost and replaced... Pins lost and replaced and in time the OP began to adopt a "welfare mentality" of not careing too much about wear a *correct Uniform. The Commanders did their best, but sometimes even they would come in Jeans and a shirt.. There may a deeper reason than what I know.. and that is, Busy people who work sometimes have to grab a sweaty shirt and go.. and the RRanger Uniform has far too many pins, insignias and clasps to "manage" My *Scouter uniform is all "patch" and can be washed, tumble dryed and except for name tag it's "barb free"..<G> *However- T328 does not keep extra anything in stock. I'll show you some pictures shortly, and everyone is in Uniform<G> It looks like a sea of green shorts and skinny knees!<G> Scout Uniforms are EXSPENSIVE! *shirts- $25US Shorts-$34 Socks $5 Long Pants $45!! The Red Wool jackets they wear.. $95US! Scoutmaster hat? $90! Handbooks are $7US and you have to go to Downtown Portland to a Scout Shop to buy'em on your time... ===== *High MORALE is the Index of effective Leadership. --------------********+********-------------------- Morale raises belief of the Leader in the follower, of the follower in the Leader, of each in themself, and both in the .....cause! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
