It's very rare to be able to "see" both sides of a cultureal issue as we do here..<G> (Ha rump..) and it is interesting to whitness how we do become upset over miscommunication.
We "know" how it goes- Many Americans are too eager to take what the TV says as "gospel" because it is packaged as.. "Gospel" we buy it lock,stock,barrel. I beleve this is due to the origins of how Preachers proclaimed the word of God for many years. If you stand on a stump in Texas.. you have a fair chance of being understood by the "assembly.." that creates a "following" and shortly you send it out via obiting spacecraft! If that *honest man of God sends the same Texas "verbage" to Europe his words may be recieved as- simplistic or even hostile! We see that everyday on Rangernet<G> When we grind our own ax.. we go our own way. Before the internet.. before International TV *America sent missionaries around the world to "spread the gospel" of the *Culture they came from. Dr.Marcus Whitman was a "Christian" But to the Indians he was "magic man"... they killed him. This is hard to understand as Royal Rangers, as we beleve we are ONE in the Lord.. and *are, when we are.. *In the Lord.. One Lord-One World. Thus- *I was told that the "Christian ethic" in Austrailia is such that they support social welfare, health care ect. The current USA "Christian ethic" would label that "Liberal" and not share the same ethical understanding.. Likewise Texas freely uses "capitol punishement" and the church backs it as a "Conservitive value" ala GW Bush.
