How is the Ranger Basic Class being taught before National Council?  I understood that this is where Training Chiefs were to learn how to Teach Ranger Basics?   I'm I wrong on this assumption?  Our Divisional Commander is going to National Council to learn that.  They will be teaching it an our Commanders Conference in April.  Thanks for the Info.

There will be two days of training at National Council. On Friday afternoon, there will be a three-hour IT/ICS class. If your district commander has authorized your certification, you will receive either IT, CI, or both as a result of attending this class session. If you take this class, please say Hi -- I'll be there.

On Saturday the LMA Transitions module will be taught. This module is designed to take existing commanders who have completed one of the LTCs (Standard or B/SA) and help transition them to the new program. The LMA Transitions module contains an abbreviated version of Ranger Basics (which is designed to take new commanders and get them started on their training program). Anyone who has either the red or blue LMA who completes the LMA Transitions module will qualify to wear the new LMA (which is blue, gold, and blue in color).

Any CI or IT who takes the LMA Transitions module will also be certified to teach Ranger Basics. Ranger Basics is NOT scheduled to be taught at National Council, since it is designed for new commanders, not experienced ones who have been through the LTC already.

At national council the national office will be releasing the following training modules:

*LMA Transitions
*LTA Training Camp-out
*Ranger Kids Skills (replaces current Book 4 B/SA requirement of the field day)
*ICS
*IT Seminar
*and a Transitional LTC (the existing LTC redone in the new Leadership Training Academy format). Commanders completing the Transitional LTC will earn the existing LMA.

Subject: [RR] Touring Headquarters

All,
The group I'm attending the Commanders Conferance
with is coming up Friday morning for the Ranger Basics course. I don't really know why they're takeing Ranger Basics since they all ready had LTC. Guess they want to leave Saturday free to goto the classes. Because I
all ready took the LTC I'm going to be doing the transition course on Saturday.
While the rest of the gang was takeing the Ranger Basics Course on Friday. I was thinking about touring headquarters. Anyone know if I have to give advance notice or can I just show up and buy the ticket at headquarters?

Thanks,
Noel"Spirit Rider"Bell
