I, too, have been faced with a similar incident, although it was football
(American style, not Soccer - sorry Gunter), not basketball.  I simply asked
the other coach if he was willing to give a written statement accepting all
liability and responsibility in moving a possible spinal cord injury so he
could finish a game.  That pretty much ended the conversation.
