Clint, I support you in what you were trying to say. While there are lots of kids out there with ADD/ADHD (and other problems), and a lot of parents who have lovingly cared for these kids and sometimes been at there wits end as to what to do, other than pray, there are A LOT of kids who are misdiagnosed because their parents don't or won't discipline them and raise them as they should. I have a nephew with ADHD, and he would be lost without the medication he needs.
BUT... >From what I've seen of the world's systems (as a parent of 4, adopted 1 more, and been a tong-term foster parent of 4 more), a common way of handling kids in school who are undisciplined at home is to "label them" and medicate them. I have the same concerns you do about this. By the time an undisciplined kid gets a few years into the school system, it's too late for the schools to do much else. Especially when there is no support for a disciplined lifestyle at home, and the parents can't handle the child either. --Alan Ogle _______ Let the Golden Rule be your daily rule.
