Hail a "Life story"<G> LONG! Cdr.Jen had a hard day and was frazzeled last night when I tried to update her on Rangernet topics...
I was explaining the relation of ADD to the ethic of "snap out of it" when she blurted out: "Oh so are you going to tell Rangernet you take Prozac?" I thought it was an odd thing for her to say, because only she and my Doc had known before right now<G> You think your spouse has your best intrest's in mind when they suggest things like this so.. here go's I take 3 drugs daily- 20mg of Zocor- "be there" 40mg of Lisinopril and- 20mg of Prozac I was jokeing with the family at Pizza one night after looking at a 1978 RV for sale that was "period correct" and suggested instead of sporting it as a "Old relic" that "we" for fun "time shift" and pretend it is 1978 and have crossed the time-space continuem in a brand NEW RV!<G> Like Cdr.Clint knows- not all things intended by "word crafting" result in clear communication.. and my wife and son started to beleve I had lost my mind<G> ..seriously *Now- as a background.. You should know that my Mom was "manic dpressive" and recieved electroshock in the 1960's when I was very young, and a only child. My Dad was somewhat dominateing and prone to emotional spasums and enjoyed "Old time Pentecostal" services that were alive with the "P'ower 'o God and Shekina glory comm'n down!" and the louder and longer the better! My Mom first official recieved medical assistance for mental Illness in 1953 while we lived on an Apache reservation as AoG Home Missionaries. *Mostly we didn't talk about such stuff- Back to this generation and the foo-pah of failed humor I attempted. It seemes, my wife is waiting for Manic Depression to hit me. It seemes my Dad, who had to nurse my MOM for years, once done with that duty, is waiting for Manic Depression to hit me. It hasn't happened yet<G> even though I can get pretty passioned over trivia.. So following my families advice I went to the Doc and laid it out: "Doc- i'm an individual, a unique human with dreams.. sometimes a straight shooter and sometimes a renagade. I try to do right, eat right and fail. If I start to go wacky.. please dope me good and pronto!" The Doc.. looked in my ear.. looked at my chart (light stroke 1996) "So what do you competely enjoy doing?" Well.. er- ahh.. I like playing my Banjo<G> darn near ever'thang else is a headache.. "I see..." "Here's what I think is going on.. and I have a plan. Sometimes our minds are like a old telephone switchboard and the insolation becomes frayed, and the signals get sent to wrong addresses or crossed up. Sometimes power leaks and signals something totaly strange.. There is a lot of science comming out about this, and if you are willing I'd like you to try this out-" *I did.. and a "fog lifted" Suddenly I could listen to music, and concentrate of thinking things thru again, simular to before my mini-stroke. Some symptoms that I was tolerating, disappeared.. and a sence of "normal" came to me. I even can shoot my guns better, because I can hold my aim on target and relax<G> I don't care particulary if the US Army is'nt intrested in me or my service to them, *Been thar- done that! So there you are- God still talks to me, I can feel Love.. Got drugs? *I'll take 'em! D.Wheeler --- Mike Burke <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Ritalin is a mind altering drug.
