Hello Jeff,   I've seen a copy of the shorts. They are khaki (imagine that :-) and have a small Ranger Emblem embroidered on the leg.   As for official socks, haven't seen a thing. A good over calf sock sounds good (lots of protection). BSA sells a green sock that has a red stripe at the top. This is their uniform sock when wearing the "shorts uniform".       I am asking do you believe that Rangers needs a uniform sock to wear that is a across the board  same color and style with all Outposts that go the way of shorts for summer wear?
