Asking the socks to be the same across ALL outposts might be difficult to sell, except for a "dress" uniform for ceremonies common to just one country. (That way, you can include the national flag without problems in most places where we have outposts.) If I get the time to start an outpost here (in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea), socks would probably be optional, as would shoes, just as they are in the elementary schools. I think I could probably support an outpost T-shirt, trousers, and cap in the highlands and maybe just an outpost pair of short trousers in the lowlands. By the way, does anybody know anything about any Royal Rangers in Papua New Guinea? I know that there are AG, Foursquare, and other Pentecostal and Charismatic churches that would appreciate a good program and ministry to develop good Christian men from boys.

The closest thing I know of to Royal Rangers near me is a totally unaffiliated "scouts" program that does fun activities like camping and river inner-tubing, but doesn't work on any advancements or awards at all. It caters mostly to Missionary Kids, and participation of their father (or if unavailable, a "substitute" father) is mandatory.

Thinking of an analogue to FCF boggles the mind. We would have to set a few ground rules, like no consumption of human flesh...

    Since Shorts are now considered a part of the uniform concept with Rangers.  I guess this is a hiking short they are talking about.  Do you think that a "uniform" hiking sock should be appropriate? BSA sells a green sock that has a red stripe at the top. This is their uniform sock when wearing the "shorts uniform".  
    I am asking do you believe that Rangers needs a uniform sock to wear that is a across the board  same color and style with all Outposts that go the way of shorts for summer wear?
