I give this report to encourage and you can help me direct all Glory to God.
Pinewood Derby Lockin Report! We had a great turnout. With about 60 there. Cut n Chop Certified/Recertified about 35 boys. The host Church's Pastor Charlie Arsenault gave the council fire devotion with the lights out and a lantern in the middle. He brought a box from his attic from 25 years ago and talked about the contents of it as well as talked about being over confident in our Christian walk. He is a great story teller had us all right there. Pop Corn and cookie and bug juice topped the council fire off with a little time to suck down a few more saw dust breaths. Lights were supposed to be out at 11 pm... about 12:15 they did go out with the usual happens with Lock ins. After a few (dozen if the truth was known...grin) "Boys, it's lights out time got to sleep..." we nestled in to the usual room of snores, gas, bathroom breaks..(turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees) and soon we were all tucked down in our sleeping bags. 1:00 p.m.ish. I woke the group 6:45 am the computer sounded Reveille.. I liked it so much it played many times during the first 45 minutes of day light. My existence was in danger so I relented to no more Reveille GRIN! Our National F. C. F. President dropped by to give our morning devotion and a donation. Rick Dostal gave the morning challenge and put us in step for the day at hand. Sausage, cereal, fruit and we were off to sand those cars. We cut up 60 plus cars and had two lead pots running and a maned paint booth. 10:30 brought in the Speed workshop and then lunch at 12:00 noon. My S10 and a pickup bed trailer were reloaded with all the tools you would need to make a GREAT car. and at 2:45 my son and I headed home to unload this back into the house and shop. A bath and nap and now here I am 8:00pm thinking God is a Great God...Yes he is! Our 6 or so Churches locked arms and worked together to do our very best and make memories that one day in Glory I am sure we will re tale this tale! I did get my car cut out. But look out.. there is work to be done and will ...See you guys and gals at the Races! God Bless and thanks to all who make this Royal Ranger Ministry a fantastic God Given call to Reach.
