The old program had 35 years into it a lot of experience and trial and
error. It will take a few years to get this one up and running in good
shape even after the materials are out. As in Windows computer software I
generally give it a year after it is released so others can get the bugs worked
out so I don't get frustrated.
I know what you mean about no workbook. It is like building a wall with no
foundation. ha! It can be done but it sure is a lot easier with a
foundation!
Ranger Kids stuff works great. Lots of
information and plenty for the boys to do.
As for the rest of the program, we are still
waiting. We have the Leaders Manuals for Discovery and Adventure Rangers along
with the Red and Gold Merit Reference books. Our boys have their handbooks.
Posters are on the wall, patches in the case, everyone is revved up
and....................
No work books yet :-(
Yes, we can work on the merits and the material
is top notch. But without the boys workbooks a vital component is missing. No
Bible merits to work on, no new advancements to earn. Yes, we can apply the
new merits (Red, Blue, Gold, Green and Silver) to the old advancement system.
Whoopee <sarcasm>
Personally I am tired of getting the boys fired
up over the new program and constantly having to let them down because the
materials are all not available yet. IMHO they (GPH) should not have released
the Discovery and Adventure materials until all were ready. My boys are
frustrated, I am frustrated, and those I talk with are
frustrated.
So, Mark, there it is in a nut shell. I'm not
listening to anyone tell me when the materials will be out. It's not worth
getting excited over any more.
God Bless,
Bob Triphahn

Subject: [RR] New Program
I was wondering how the new program is working out for
you? Pros - Cons?
Are you using the weekly planing
guides and staying with them?
I have been out of socket so was just
wondering how it is going.
Out Pow Wow is next week. " Put on the
Full Armor of God? Keep us in
prayer! We have been
working to complete a showerhouse project. It
will be a nice
facility and be a blessing when we complete it.
