Well now that is a dandy subject.  I bought two halberts for a RR discounted price of 12.95 each they are about 36" long but will do for a display.  One of my fellow sectional commanders is a metal worker and is making a 8' long pole with a hook on it.  The boys at pow wow will hook the pole over a limb to climb up and ring a bell and then side back down to receive a match and half of a cedar shingle to make a one match fire with.  I stopped by the Roofing supply store and they gave me all the cedar shingles I wanted... for 500 boys.. I got several bundles all for free!  Now all I need is a couple of bells some matches and two fire buckets and make my display/sign and tie in a scripture verse..then I am set for my event of climbing with a halberd! ( I know a halberd is was used to pull down men in armor on horse back and pierce their armor)

I have 9 days off starting Friday 6 days to prepare for Pow Wow!  We went up this past weekend and layed 8 rows of 4" block 84 feet approx.  in the new shower house project.  Lots to be done there  yet so I will try and get up and work on that project as well before pow wow.  The shower house looks nice. I will take some pictures of Pow Wow  this next  week and post it on my website.  Looking and praying for souls saved and hearts stirred by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

It feels weird not having to plan and prepare for 45 men and boys for 4 days and 3 nights.  This year I get a break and get to just be a helper after almost 9 years of doing that job it really feels weird.  Nice but weird!

I was wondering how the new program is working out for you?  Pros - Cons?

We think it is great!  And the kids like the workbooks.  A lot.

Are you using the weekly planing guides and staying with them?

Even though I've taught LTCs and run an outpost for some time, I still sometimes find it difficult to stay with the time  frames suggested in the Leaders Guides.  The content and context works out great, though.

I have been out of socket so was just wondering how it is going.

Out Pow Wow is next week. " Put on the Full Armor of God?  Keep us in
prayer!   We have been working to complete a showerhouse project.  It
will be a nice facility and be a blessing when we complete it.

How are you doing with your halbert?
