I went to a day camp about two years ago.  I was the commander of a small outpost and the only boy that would go to day camp that year was my son.  We loaded up early that morning and drove 1.5 hours to the camp.  We had a blast that day.  My son still talks about it at times.

The thing I remember the most was the hay ride.  We loaded on to the wagon and found the perfect hay bale to make as our seat for the ride.  The driver fired up the old tractor and it spit and sputtered for a little bit and then we were off.  The boys all cheered.  We drove quite aways from the camp and as we turned to go back the old tractor gave a couple of coughs and died.  We prayed hard for we didn't want to walk back.  But John Deer was dead.  There would be no raising him from the dead that day.

The driver told us to stay in the wagon and he would walk back and get his truck.  Oh, man, have you ever been setting out in the middle of a poison ivy and snake infested field with 15 boys ages 5-7 in the middle of a Oklahoma July?  It was no picnic.  A boys attention span is a lot shorter when he is seated upon a hay bale and some one has just spotted a big black snake slithering up the tree next to you.

But one of the lady commanders seated at the back of the wagon began to sing "No you can't ride in my little hay wagon".  All the boys joined in and before long the driver was back with his truck and he connected the wagon to the truck and pulled us back.  The boys sang that silly song all the way back and my boy even sang it on the ride home.

Isn't it great when God turns your thunderstorm into a blessed shower of rain?
