Check out the Melbourne Age for a start.
I suppose the headlines of last month did not happen when it stated that 2 crime figure
were gun down at a football match. And the murder of another man a week later.
I will admit I did get the figures wrong, it's now 27, with the murder of a man in Sydney
last night.
Adrian has brought up some [uncited] isolated incidents of homicides that have occoured lately. Whilst it is true that statistics like gun related deaths [and unemployment, inflation etc] become relevant only when viewed as trends, it may be of value to speculate on why there seems to have been a flurry of gun related murders lately.
It wouldn't have anything to do with the santioning of murder by the heads of the United Kingdom, Australia and the UNited States would it?
Q: How do you deal with a problem Mr Bush? A: Shoot it down.
Q: How do you bring people to justice Mr Howard? A: Shoot them down.
Q: How do you give a fair go Mr Blair? A: Shoot first, look for bodies later.
I am referring of course to the murder of the sons of Saddam Hussain. Images of their murder blazened on television and their bodies paraded before the masses.
With modelling like that from our elected officials, how can two-bit tommy on the street understand the value of human life?
He can't of course.
Regardless of the crimes of these two men, murdering them in cold blood is wrong.
It is evil and it is wrong.
