I'm going to throw out a sticky ball again and be direct.

Royal Rangers was laid out on the table and disected up.. for
the pleasure of Non-Royal Ranger  authority.  Perhaps, the scope
of straight arrow to AST was too broad for the full development
of the program and facilitaion on a local level.
Brother  a lot  of the  changes  were  asked  for  by smaller  chuirchs if  you review  the  new  program you will see a broad  selection  of merits  with manuels  and lessons  plans. And  the  changes were implemented  not  by non  ranger but by ranger program
*That said..  RR started as a lead-in to a older boy program
that had very much the same pool to draw from as Boy Scouts.

Along the way, at every twist in the trail.. Royal Rangers has had to
justify it's mission statement with those in Ministry oversight.

With a distinct culture and doctrine that holds Christ at the center
of every decision, the success of a high adventure program has not
been primary.  Other trade offs have been made in the implimentation
of the patrol system and effective development of leadership.
if  christ  were not  the  center  we  would not  need rangers  as the  boy scout   would  do. And  if you look at the  new  program  the patrol  system was not  done  away. And  leadership  developement  is  still in exictence
*When you look at Euro-Rangers..  you see them embraceing something
USA Rangers traded away for a primarily evangelical agenda.  When
Euro Rangers visit the USA National Camp.. *They must wonder where
all the adventure has gone<G>
the  adventure is there for outposts  willing  to reach  for it and the  powwows i have  beeninvolved  with have  always  strifed to supply the  boys  with  adventure and  advancement
US Rangers is a top-down Adult led effort.. where any boy is simply
told what to do and not allowed to be or do his best as a Royal Ranger.

come  to  new york  look  at  our   rangers  of the  year I  am  always  amazed at the  achievements  and  excellence  of these boys. the  program is  as  good  as  the  outposts  want it to be

Euro-Ranger leaders hold a different attitude.. one of a "scouting spirit"
where they mix in with the kids to assist them to achieve something and
gain self-confidence at a task.  *The true worth of the program for
them is found in what it does inside the heart, from relationships and
from challanges.

All this has not been addressed by US Royal Rangers.
i  think if  its  not in  your  section ask  why i dont  believe it is a  wide  spread  nor  fair anaysis  nationwide. get involved if your  area section does not  have  jltc camps  and  other  opportunitys find  out  why  be the  spark  to start  something God  bless you in  your  endeaver to  help  a ranger excel in  all  areas  physically  mentally and  spirital Harry smith
*Given the chance, I'd choos Euro-Rangers over the US version.
