John 8:36 If the son there shall make you free ye shall be free indeed. Once a person is saved and has repented from past wrong doings. The Lord deems them free. Shall we start adding LAW onto what Christ has done for us and thereby saying what Jesus did on the Cross for you and me wasn't enough?
Now if the person in question is a professing Christian and Royal Ranger Leader... A Royal Ranger does not lie, cheat or steal and they do these things continually are they to be allowed to be a Royal Ranger Commander? My personal experience indicates yes. In the past we have had felon's involved in our local outpost etc. (These were not child molesters) as that would be the big exception for childrens ministries. Let those serve in other ministries. Some examples of felons who could be a good royal ranger commander: A Christian investment director who advises a client to hold on to their investment and ride out the storm... and the person chooses to withdraw and loose thousands of dollars and then take this person to court and a judge makes a off the wall ruling and makes this person a felon. A Night Club owner who was caught up in big city crime and got busted for his immoral lifestyle. He got saved and repented. Went to bible college and became a pastor. A draft dodger who in is younger days made a decision to go to jail then go to Vietnam. All are felons. All are washed by Christ's Blood all repented and turned from their mistakes and all made good Royal Ranger Commanders or Ministry Servants. I will add that you need to keep a watchful eye as mistakes can happen again and as the Bible puts it a dog often returns to their vomit. As Jesus also put it.. .you who are without sin cast the first stone. I am not perfect and make mistakes. I am washed by Jesus Blood and try to live a holy life. I also try to live up to the Ranger Code. As I often put it... there is always room for one more hypocrite as we are all one at some time or another. Men will let you down.
