I wouldn't be too sure of yourself A without knowing any facts. The Democratic platform only mentions religion twice. Once when taking China to task for religious persecution and once quoting the standard anti- discrimination for race, religion, etc. The Republican platform mentions it quite a bit. I'm basically just copying and pasting at this point, so for those not wanting nitty gritty details have a good day and God bless :) We will continue to work for the return of voluntary school prayer to our schools and will strongly enforce the Republican legislation that guarantees equal access to school facilities by student religious groups. We strongly support voluntary student-initiated prayer in school without governmental interference. We strongly disagree with the Supreme Courts recent ruling, backed by the current administration, against student-initiated prayer. Also mentions faith based reform and how the opposition party tried to make Churches and other ministries cover all symbols of religion and blacklisted them in violation of 1996 welfare reform. Then there is the standard anti-discrim that the dems have but the GOP adds: "Accordingly, we denounce all who practice or promote racism, anti-Semitism, ethnic prejudice, and religious intolerance." Our country was founded in faith and upon the truth that self-government is rooted in religious conviction. While the Constitution guards against the establishment of state-sponsored religion, it also honors the free exercise of religion. We believe the federal courts must respect this freedom and the original intent of the Framers. We assert the right of religious leaders to speak out on public issues and will not allow the EEOC or any other arm of government to regulate or ban religious symbols from the workplace. We condemn the desecration of places of worship and objects of religious devotion, and call upon the media to reconsider their role in fostering bias through negative stereotyping of religious citizens. We support the First Amendment right of freedom of association and stand united with private organizations, such as the Boy Scouts of America, and support their positions. No individual or institution should be compelled to assist in providing any medical service that violates their moral or religious convictions. We oppose and will work to end taxpayer supported grants for projects and programs that promote religious bigotry in America. Also a generic anti-religion policy in foreign affair like the dems have. -E- _______ List host: http://eBible.org/mpj/ List info: http://eBible.org/rangernet/faq.htm To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe rangernet" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or visit http://eBible.org/subscribe.htm
