First and foremost, get all the
Leadership Training Modules under your belt that you can. One of the
largest causes of Commander burn out is lack of training. Second and
almost as important, find a leader that will mentor you - someone that has many
years of service under their belt. Hang around them, pick their brain, ask
questions. If you want to soar with eagles, don't hang around the
chicken coupe. Attend your Section's Commanders Meetings to be up on
the latest information from your Section, District & the National Office,
you won't be sorry.
