*Camping in the Adventure and Explorer programs is admittedly the best
way to develop character and leadership in boys and Leaders..

*Rangers CAMP!

In our new "proposed" program.. Options will be made available for
other ministries- *convoy of Hope ect. so that "outdoor experiences"
are gained from other non-camping events.. this is nothing new!

Royal Rangers have suffered criticism from the "outside" for being
focused on the Camping program to the exclusion of other ministries..
Yet when closely looked at, RRangers has always had "other" outdoor
adventures from "Astronomy to Swimming, boating and more" even
Christian service awards for outdoor ministry... so that the changes
just expand the options we have to serve the boys!

*But as we understand that the views have been distorted by lack
of knoledge of our *program... We must also take responsibility for
our lack of facilitating a broad based menue of options, and insisting
that traditional Camping, is the only way to go!

If we are to blend the skills and resources of our community and
carreer and vocational options for the boys of the future.. we need
to invite and expand our welcome to professionals and those in
that field of study!

*Just consider- that may mean inviteing a Female EMT- Naturalist-
Biologiest-Doctor- or "Male nurse"... Leaders and Leadership is not
gender specific! Leadership is a "virtue" and teaching often relies on
a tender word said at the right time- a word of encouragement and
resolve brought by positive emotional well being...

*How "green and growing" are you COMMANDER?

The Gender stigma of Rangers being a "Man-Boy" program has
cracks the size of the Grand Canyon! *if we act in good faith to
flood these canyons with the river of Life! and the Gospel of Peace..

*And truely trust Jesus to guide our hearts...

The rocks will absorb this new life and we will find flowers grow in the
desert!<G>
