Most people store information they receive in memories. The memory can
be supported with notes, pictures written references and similar things.

Retrieving or recalling information is important, and it is often
related to
how the information was stored. People with outstanding memories have
developed an effective retrieval system, and we often compliment them or

trust their quick assessment or judgment.

Giving information uses the five senses that we also use to receive
information-
Seeing, hearing, feeling, tasteing and smelling.. *But in giving
information, writing
clearly, using visual methods and word pictures, becoming sensitive to
the
group, asking for feedback and summarizing.... *results in an effective
transfer of
information...

*Interpreting information is vital!

In many cases, the information was given and received- but somehow
Communication did not result! Blocks to communication include
motivation,
(One of the two parties did think the information was important) or
Conflict!
(two messages did not agree) or Experience... (Your own back ground or
opinions cause you not to accept what was said) or distractions...
(something
else was on your mind as you received the information) or Attitude...
(you already know all you need to know about the subject)<G>

*Most people learn 11% of what they know by listening, but 83% by
seeing!
(observing and reading) *people recall 20% of what they heard...but
recall
a full 50% of what they heard and saw...

Clear communication is essential-

The success of establishing and maintaining a group will depend largely
on how well
it's members communicate with each other and those outside the group.
