*Greetings fellow critical thinkers<G>
I propose that "National Training" endorces the patrol system,
and give pratical hands on demonstration of it's ability to overcome
challenges by the use of small group teamwork.
I propose that since 1962 RRangers has endorced this method
and has had the framework in place for boy leadership through the
gold bar staff positions and gold bar planning/ with blue bar
oversight.
I further propose that Royal Rangers is NOT a "para-military"
program or organization with a top-down system of accountibility
but rather a localy based church sponsered boys group.. sovern
under the congregational rule of each Assemblies of God church.
I "assumed" National Training would bring insight into the
organizational
facilitation of my local outpost, through involvement in a scaled-down
training Outpost where I "Sr.Commander" would become the "Ranger".
At my NTC training it rained 12 inches over the three days, and I stayed
in my patrol camp with standing water. At one point while cooking tin-
foil meals under a tarp lit by road flares<G> NTC's "Sr.Guide" told me
that following the current "Sr.Guide act" he wanted to talk to me about
Ranger history ect. but his "role" prevented him from openly being
friendly
or overly compassionate. In conversation I told him that in the
Northwest
we would not continue to "tent camp" if the weather prevented us from
staying dry in some manner, as a health and safety issue. The "Leader"
portraying "Sr.Guide" agreed, but responded with the reasoning that
NTC was not like a real Outpost campout.
*Yes- for 4 four years, I have wondered then about NTC and it's
recomendation for the patrol system. *Was NTC "theater" to deliver
a point, or was it "National Training to inspire better run Royal Ranger
Outposts, through the use of boy leadership"
Is the NTC version of Sr.Guide and the patrol system to be implimented
as a part of every RR outpost?
