*What an honest and thoughtful comment!
I "fear" that when the instruction was given to not use "Mr. Knotty"
as a "tool" for correction, the mis-understanding of most NTC grads
is that the entire use of the Patrol System at NTC should also be
discarded...
Do you agree or see how that could happen?

Yes!-----
The boys can do it, and should interact to build fellowship among
their patrol members, for in *Friendship is found fellowship! When the
boys work together, the program swings into gear... *This is what
I'd love to see...!

Agreed- *However the decision is to continue NTC as-is.
Royal Rangers is a long bus and it takes a long time to turn coners<G>
We "correct this" by raising the MORALE of the junior leaders to
become responsible to the position given them. We back them with
resources of understanding and love! *But we also "Let'em lead"
and work hard to build the "prestige" of boy leadership and believability
in "the cause" The *Mission! *When the boys begin to lead, the "Leaders"
will follow<G>

That should be made clear... Royal Rangers is for the boys!
That the boys perspective is prime central to the *mission and
we are to "prefer them" to a MAN's perspective and we should be
mindfull of the differences... Leadership is not command and control
to the exclusion of the boys!

That point is well taken when talking about JLTC where "Sr.Guide" is
a Adult and the trainees are boys (*under 18) his title should be "Trainer"
I happen to think NTC Sr.Guide was a boy leader who *perhaps needed
better supervision by the Adult leaders as to his "temperment" and mannor.
(When we drop the football, we can win by getting back up and playing
the game. The "game" is not perfection but *Character)
NTC is for Adult Leaders (*over 18)
When we enter a theater, we are aware we will be shown an "Illusion"
and have the safety of that *thought to hold us in clear "perspective" to our
core
values, no matter how "trippy" the light show.<G>
At NTC not everyone knew what was going on. Some of my NTC patrol were
from central america and did not understand every word. Thus you have a
patch-work of success and failure to communicate.
I heartily agree that NTC "Sr.Guide" should in all ways act as the model
Sr.Guide.
if the Patrol system is to be taught and cherrished. as I hope it will...
Quality training yields quality leaders, informed and on-board and with "the
program".
