In contrast, there would be a lack of LOVE if we were NOT (emphasis) to
say anything at all. Children look at an adult who says they shouldn't
do something because it's wrong, as "you don't LOVE me". If you LOVE me
you would let me do it. That's love? We tend to have a childish
attitude towards those who want to warn us that we are moving away from
godly principles and practices. The cry is, "You are judging me, you
don't love me". No, I do love you and want to keep you from falling
away.
No Johnny, don't cross the street. But I want to play with my friends.
Johnny! Don't cross the street! You don't love me, you always keep me
from my friends! Johnny turns in anger and runs across the street.
Wham, he get's hit by a car. It wasn't the friends that Dad was worried
about, it was the car that was going to 'HIT" Johnny.
The moral of the story; " Listen to a word of warning in LOVE, before you
get hit by a the car of COMPROMISE. "
Please check 1 Corinthians 10, just 3 chapters before the 'love' chapter.
You will see examples of warnings, some dealing with compromise of the
'faithful'.
Capital letters for emphasis only.
Your brother - In Jesus,
Will
