Stan,

Sorry for not replying earlier, Seems alot of the legitimate questions can
get overlooked in amongst the other junk. And yes we have several
non-mainstream boys in our outpost. Sometimes I think mostly non. I can't
say we focus on them. We probably like most groups focus on the "standard"
trail, but we have several and we get them through their advancements also.
If fact the local "home" oftens brings their residents over to try out our
program because we can usually involve the boys and they can see positve
results in their lives. We sometimes bend the rules a bit as far as age
groups are concerned to accomodate these boys and their needs. (e.g. we
might have to allow an 18 yr old into Challengers or keep a 9-yr old in
buckaroos) We had one 9-year old this past week earn his Straight Arrow
Warrior rating. He got a thunderous round of applase and a Indian chher from
the boys. Also we have one boy (my son) in a wheelchair who is in no way
mentally challenged but once in awhile requires us to call Paul Stanek for
modifications for a certain merit or the like (not often). He was the
Sectional Ranger of the Year this year and should get his GMA within the
next year or so.

My inspiration on the subject though is David North up in KC. He may well be
the one who replied to you already but he IS the source. you can email him
at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Put something he will note in the Subject Line like
ATTENTION DAVID NORTH :)
