Hello,

Sorry I was not on the Rangernet back in Jan 98 and hope I am
rehashing a tired and well worn thread. But, I am hearing two
     different thoughts here.

f I read Duanes comments right, rangernet previously determined that
that any new gold track requirements were additional work and thus
     would require an additional merit.

What I am hearing from several others is, "why shouldn't it be
     applied".

Is there a "royal ranger SOP" on this situation or is it to be
interpreted individually? I appreciate you comments on the GMA
though, and not PUSHING the gold track on any boys.

     Rene' Glover

*We finished that conversion Jan.1.1998 and held that what could transfer
would and any additional work described by the new Gold-track would be
done by the Ranger to make it a Gold-track award.

I currently feel you should *suggest the Gold Track but not do anything
*extra ordinary to push or promote the *extra requirement to boys not
motivated or "aware" of the GMA...

*A "GMA Pioneer" will set his own pace, make goals.. and follow thru..

The Standard track is full and respectible.. "good enough" and even has
the potential to allow the boy later when his reading skills are better to
come back, and complete the requirement..

The "call" is yours according to the RR LTC...

*Others?
