<G> No... although I may be broadcasting KUPL *country radio in Portland
thru my *massive scroungy beard ;')

*Jonathan Trower at Baylor University might better say this in a clearer
way than I can...
However, struggle along with this 'ole grizz...:')
Jan 1 1998 was the implimentation of the Gold Track... from that time on
the "old track" was and is dead<G> ...Commander before that date
converted old track to gold track by the guideline I stated...
You have the right to accept or convert awards as you see fit in you
Outpost because of your new position as Sr.Cdr.... *We susspect there
is slight misunderstanding in the application of what you wanted cleared..
*What I think you said:
----------------------
"May I convert a old track 2nd class to a Gold-Track powderhorn award?"
A! answer is yes... IF the additional "new" requirements are met..
(the idea is new stuff needs to be earned, even tho old stuff is
eliminated) "Legaly, you could grant the award, as you are *sovern"
or "interpreted individualy"
*What -=A=- thinks!
------------------
(forgive me)
"A Pioneer with a 2nd class at this point is a slacker, and should
get a new book and start over fresh"
*Where we get confused!
-----------------------
"Gold Track" literaly means the total program leading to the GMA
*all the pins plus portions of the GMA requirements..
"Advancement trail" is what we seem to prefere to call "the Standard
Track" ...see page 20 of the Pioneer handbook and the color graphic
there.
*all the Pioneer pins<G>
*Then! 2 additional forms of awards...
1. Merits
2. Achievement Badges
*Confuseing verbage<G>
---------------------
*When I read or hear: Gold-track merit.. *That means a Gold Track
"required merit" such as the 17 listed on the GMA application form.
*It would be nice to develop a Gold track card... to fit in a boys wallet
so that he could keep track and "see" what is required...
Commanders have the Moral Obligation to *Understand and explain the award
is availible and obtainible!
*I'm going to stop here...
